Recently, Officer E. Srebalus, assigned to the Westside
Patrol Division, was dispatched to a burglary of a business at 9300 Boone Road.
He arrived and spoke with the citizen who reported the crime and saw that
forced entry had been made. The citizen gave the officer a suspect and vehicle
descriptions, and a description of the tools the suspects used to gain entry
into the building. One suspect had fled in a vehicle and two had fled on foot. Officer
Srebalus broadcasted all of this information over the air to the other units.
Sergeant H. Estrella, Officer K. Nola, and Officer T. Hansen
conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with its lights off that was driving in the
area. The suspect in the vehicle complied with the officers’ instructions and
was taken into custody without incident. Inside the vehicle, officers found tools
similar to those described by the citizen used in the break in.
The two remaining suspects were last seen in a nearby
neighborhood. With the assistance of Officer G. Ortiz and his K9 partner “Surge”
a perimeter was set up and the suspects were tracked. The two suspects were
