Physical Agility Test Requirements for the Houston Police Department

Test your readiness to join HPD this Friday, December 19th at 6:30 am and Run With Your Recruiter at Memorial Park. You will go through the physical agility test requirements as shown in the video above and be able to speak to HPD Recruiters about starting your career with HPD.

Now is a great time to apply. There is a $5000 hiring incentive for the February, May, and June 2015 police academy classes. All cadets will receive $2500 after they start the academy and $2500 upon graduation from the academy.

Blue Santa and Andre Johnson

HPD Blue Santa teamed up with the Houston Texans Andre Johnson to make Christmas better for kids at Bastian Elementary. HPD loves the Texans and thanks Andre for his generous involvement in the lives of the kids of Houston.

HPD Explorers from the Midewest Post 7277 went to the Los Magnificos Car Show at the Reliant Center on November 22. They videoed, interviewed, and edited the video themselves and this is the result.

Comida Food Drive 2014

HPD, Houston Citizens' Police Academy Alumni Association, Fiesta Mart and
the Pepsi Bottling Group will once again join together to sponsor the annual
"Comida" Drive.

The food drive provides food for more than 3,500 families in the city of
Houston and last year raised $48,000 in cash donations.  All cash
donations are used to purchase basic food staples packaged for distribution to

The "Comida" Drive began in December 1985 with an officer's
concern for the less fortunate citizens of Houston.  That began what is
today one of the largest food drives in the city of Houston.  During the
first year, approximately 600 families received a box of non-perishable
food.  Each box fed a family of four during the holiday.

The distribution of the food will be held at a later date to churches that
pre-registered to participate in the program.  For more information,
