Okay…Class 212 can count the days until graduation.
Tomorrow we get our photos taken for HPD, get fitted for our blue shirts, and maybe trade in some extra large clothing for smaller sizes.
A lot of cadets lost weight during the physical training while at the Academy.
Last week we completed our final field evaluations, survived Redman, and took our State Certification test.
It has been a hard six months, we can all see the light at the end of the tunnel. The long Academy journey seems to be coming to an end.
I mentioned that 212 survived Redman. Basically, it is a fight. A rite of passage…a gut check. A cadet completes a mock foot chase around the Academy campus in pursuit of a possible suspect. After clearing walls and climbing staircases…the foot chase ends with a fight against an instructor dressed in red protective gear. Their goal is make you quit. Your goal is to not quit. Oh did I mention, that you are completely exhausted by the time you fight the Redman. I came out with a busted nose and bruised ego…but I didn't quit.
It is a whole different world here at the Academy. On June 14th, we graduate and on that day the world is going to get a little larger.
