Assistant Chief Brian Lumpkin, Professional Development Command, spoke with the men and women of Academy Class 202 prior to them walking across the stage on graduation night. Emotions ran high and excitement filled the air as Assistant Chief Lumpkin gave them some wise words of advice to take with them that night.

Great speech. Very moving and well spoken. I have met Chief Lumpkin before. He is a great asset to HPD. You will never meet a finer person.

I LOVE the video. I read through some comments as well as the incentive comments. You have truly done an exceptional job with this BLOG and set a new standard of HPD recruiting. Capturing the "human" side of officers and the department is and will continue to propel HPD's recruiting efforts.

Officer McCoy...Is there anyway you can post when the graduation dates for all these classes are. I know the academy is 6 months long but I personally would like to know when I will turn Blue.

If a cadet doesn't make it through the academy, can you enter the next academy or do you have to wait. Would the cadet have to go through the entire hiring process again or what
