Thank you for the compliment. Just so you know our age limit is 45, just as long as you turn 45 before you take the oath of office. We also have many civilian positions within the Houston Police Department that do not have an age limit at www.houstontx.gov/jobs
i just have a few question: What is the min-age requirment to apply to be in training(if i will turn 21 with-in a year after training)? What educational background are required? (if i am completely proificient in Chinese, and have only finished a little over 30hours of college) Will i be able to still go to school, part time, and will i get reembursed for the tuition?
You must be 21 years old by the time you take your oath of office upon graduation from the Houston Police Academy. You must have 60 semester hours from an accredited school with at least a 2.0, unless you have two years prior military experience or five years law enforcement experience. Once you start the academy, you may not attend school. After you get off of probation with us, you can go back to school and submit your transcripts and receipts and the police department will reimburse you. You can finish your degree with HPD, but you must have at least 60 hours first. (No specific courses are required) Good Luck!

I love your blog. I wish I could join HPD, but I am too old. I really enjoy reading it, though.
